  • Lift heavier than you ever thought possible AND have a fun while you’re doing it (if you think learning new/hard things is fun).
  • Get curious about why certain rules around strength training exist, so that you can stop following fitness advice that wasn’t meant for you.
  • Explore ways to measure progress that have nothing to do with your weight and size so that you feel like there’s a point and a purpose to lifting.
  • Use strength training to enhance all the things you love to do in your life–not let it consume your life.
  • Let your workouts support your mental and physical health instead of letting yourself get swept up into fitness trends that are the opposite of healthy.
  • Approach your experience of yourself in your workouts with less judgement and more curiosity.
  • Question the messages you’ve absorbed from both the mainstream fitness industry AND the anti-diet culture space. Because unquestioningly following advice from fitness influencers and unquestioningly following advice from anti-diet professionals are two different flavors of the same shit sandwich.

Hi! I’m Jenna and back in 2016, I finally decided I was over the bullshit of the fitness industry.

I finally had what I like to call the “fuck this I’m done” moment with trying to make myself smaller. Through the process of learning about things like body positivity, Health At Every Size, and Intuitive Eating, I found my worldview got completely blown. Except there was one problem: there seemed to be a million body image coaches and non-diet dietitians ready to help me work through my relationship with food and my body. But nobody was addressing the exercise piece! Why?? It’s so connected!

As a personal trainer and former professional dancer, I hated that the only advice out there was to take walks and do gentle yoga because the fitness industry was “toxic”. I wasn’t ready to settle for that. I wanted to change it. Make the fitness industry a better place. Help other women discover the power of lifting heavy shit.

Kettlebell Social is the result of me coaching women in person and online and building community along the way. It’s everything I wish existed in the online fitness space when I first got started. I can’t wait for you to join the party!
